Hello everyone,

I come here today with an EBICS issue. For the company, EBICS has been installed and working on DATEV. When the manager initiates a payment through DATEV, it works. However, if a Junior initiates a payment, obviously, the manager needs to approve the payment first.

My question is where does one approve the payment? Sparkasse says it is a DATEV issue and it seems that an answer is no where to be found.

Thanks,

KB

I assume you try to use the Distributed Electronic Signature (VEU = Verteilte Elektronische Unterschrift).

In this process the Junior submits a payment to the EBICS banking server (usually with a T-Signature) and the Senior requests the pending signatures and signs the payment files with his appropriate authorization.

This so called VEU does not work with DATEV.

Your only option is the Junior preparing the payments in Bank Online without sending them to the bank and the Senior logging in to DATEV Unternehmen Online and signing and submitting the payments via EBICS directly.

DATEV is not able to fetch the pending payments list from the EBICS banking server.

Live long and prosper!

Right. In this case, some banks will automatically delete this payment on their banking server after 14 days, because the payment isn't necessary approved enough. If this is the case, you can only start twice in DATEV Unternehmen from scratch with a new payment or you copy the failed payment in DATEV.

This could still be solved by using an EBICS app (also available for smartphones), with which the manager (hopefully there are more users who can approve payments) authorizes the VEU payment on the bank's EBICS server.

Dear Sven,

Thank you for your answer. The bank in question is Sparkasse and they immediately told me that the 'signature' from the Manager should be given through DATEV to approve it. Even though, there is an APP that is advertised on their website. Initialising the app was unsuccessful. Do you have any experience with this ?

I see. Maybe I am quite confused about this, I apologise. I did some research and ended up on this website : https://www.ah.consulting/post/datev-smartverify

Is this with VEU as well?

Would you suggest anything else?

Yes, because DATEV SmartVerify is the way / solution DATEV is implementing a 2FA to EBICS to make it more save. But in our understandig, it's a job creation measure 😂. But SmartVerify itself has nothing to do with VEU. It's only more clicks to pay with DATEV software.

Achso! I see that DATEV and Sparkasse share the same goal - never doing enough😉.

Thank you for your input on this.

An EBICS User ID can always only be used with the software through which the access was set up.

Your manager will therefore need a second EBICS User ID, which is only used for access via a separate app.

Regarding the app, this one comes to mind:
