I have a query while doing Datev portal registration; in the final step, it asks for an invitation code from the invitation letter. How did I get that? Please explain this process.
Is there any other way to register for the Datev portal? Explain this also.
Gelöst! Gehe zu Lösung.
Give a link, please. No one can help without the information which portal is meant.
If you would like to register to Arbeitnehmer online, you have to ask your employer.
login URL : https://login.datev.de/web/de/mydatev/
Yes, i need to register Arbeitnehmer online portal, Please explain what "employer" means, Who is that employer? Is employer means datev official worker? How did i contact them?
Desc: I want to integrate "accounting:extf-files" API in my website, so the first step was to create an account in the Arbeitnehmer online portal but this step was not complete because I didn't have the "Invitation code".
From what I understand from your previous posts, you are trying to set up an API-connection to DATEV.
So if you are trying to log in to the DATEV Developer Portal you can simply walk through the registration process.
However if you want to connect to DATEV API Services you either need a DATEV Smart Card (which is SIM card in a black USB card reader) or a DATEV Smart Login, which is an app for your phone that reads QR-codes.
In both cases you should have received an invitation letter in the mail.
The Smart Login registration consists of two 8-digit codes and the Smart Card has a 6-digit initialization password.
Helping you would be easier if we knew, what service you are trying to log in and which identification media you are trying to use.
The Arbeitnehmer Onlie-Portal you mentioned has NOTHING to do with API-integration. It is merely an online account for employee payslips.
The link you provided - again - has nothing to do with Arbeitnehmer Online. It is an online portal to access several different DATEV applications and requires the aforementioned Smart Login or Smart Card, which can only be provided through your tax advisor.
Setting up a Smart Card is explained here:
Inbetriebnahme DATEV SmartCard / DATEV mIDentity - DATEV Hilfe-Center
Setting up a Smart Login is explained here:
Thanks for your clarification @andrereissig ,
As per my understanding of DATEV API Services, we either need a DATEV Smart Card (which is SIM card in a black USB card reader) or a DATEV Smart Login.
This two login method was given by our tax adviser, right? So, first I need to contact a tax adviser and ask them to invite me to Datev.
That is correct.
A tax advisor has to provide you with a so called "mandantengenutzte Beraternummer", which is basically just a client identifier (free of charge!) that is used to manage your security media and DATEV-contracts (Interfaces and software contracts are also registered under that ID).
As soon as you have that client ID a security token (i. e. the Smart Card or Smart Login mentioned above) can be purchased under that ID for you by your tax advisor.
With a Smart Card you will receive two letters in the mail: One with the Smart Card itself and one with the initial password.
With a Smart Login you will receive one registration letter that enables you to setup the Smart Login on your mobile phone.
Important note: After providing you with a security media, the tax advisor has to grant you access rights to the data you want to use through the API. Unless those rights are configured, your security token remains useless!
Thankyou @andrereissig
I am a developer. I want to test my sandbox api, so i asked above doubts.
Does sandbox API testing also need a login process and tax advisers?
How can I create tax adviser account?
Can I create a tax adviser account in Datev or should I contact Datev employees?
Please explain the sandbox API process.
You need login credentials in order to gain access to DATEV-data via the online-API.
You cannot create a tax advisor account yourself because you are not a tax advisor. You need a tax advisor who is a DATEV member to provide you with these credentials.
You yourself cannot become a DATEV customer without the support of a DATEV member.
That's why it would be of no use, if you contacted DATEV directly because DATEV would not conduct business with you, since you are not a DATEV member yourself.
As soon as you have you login credentials, your security token and access rights to the data you can start testing your API.
This all applies for online APIs!
If you are trying to develop a local API that is supposed to run on-premise and collect local data, that is a whole other deal.
In that case you need additional services like DATEVconnect etc.
So basically it all boils down to: Are you developing an online-API or an on-premise API?
I think it's online API, I will provide you API document URL that i want to integrate in my website.
API URL : https://developer.datev.de/datev/platform/en/product/40020/api/28378#/accountingextffiles_30/overview
So, The first step is to contact Datev members and ask them to invite my email under a tax adviser Right?
then using tax adviser's client_id and client_secret, should I import files in API.
This is where I have to tap out, because I am not proficient in programming or APIs. I can tell you how to get access and what you need to start, but when it comes to the API itself, I only have proximate base knowledge.
You want to make sure to have a tax advisor by your side, that can accompany you throught the entire process, because you not only want to set up your API, but you also need someone to double check the data with you and confirm that you are receiving proper results.
And in the final stages you might want to work with real client data, so you need a tax advisor for that, too.
So yes, contact a DATEV tax advisor (maybe your client that ordered the API has one? I suppose you don't just develop your API for fun, right? 🙂 )
How you pass the credentials through the API escapes me. I don't want to propagate inadequate information here.
EDIT: And yes, you are developing an online-API as you can tell by the type "REST". A REST-API is always an online API.
Thank you for information @andrereissig
